WHAT'S THIS POI DISK ALL ABOUT ?

A POI - is simply a "Point Of Interest" - this differs from a postcode, address, co-ordinates or favourite on your sat-nav in that its pre-coded. It also can hold some other useful information - like a phone number, description, road name and of course a brand or shop name. It also differs in that you don't have to tap in any information (like with a postcode) you can just pull up a list of POIs and then select the one you need.

They are very useful say if you are driving along and find you are running out of petrol on the M4. You don't know where the next services are or indeed the postcode or name of towns you are near. Well just do a search on the petrol stations POI and it will locate a list of the nearest Petrol Stations for you - on and just off the motorway.  That's why good quality and up to date POIs can really make a difference to your sat nav experience.

We have collected together all of the normal POIs on this website, as well as our special larger collected of POIs (these are where you get a group of POI's for ease of use - like petrol stations). Then we have added to that another 100 or so POIs that we don't have space or bandwidth to download - that's a huge POI collection. If you loaded them all up you couldn't fit them on your tomtom !

We then have made them easy to use - no unzipping and searching about - you can use file manager to just drag and drop the ones you want into your tomtom's directory. We have also included a every guide and manual that we have on this website on the disk for reference and to make setup as easy as possible.

We have carefully selected POI that you can use to supplement the ones that are on your tomtom already. A lot of the ones that you get are out of date, or just missing obvious useful POI's - where is Congestion Charge (with Western Extension) ,. where are Railway Stations (complete for the UK), where are Tube Stations ? This list could go on but we expect that by now you can see that either DOWNLOADING or ORDERING BY POST ON CD ROM our disk is a sensible option.

Of course its possible to download some free POI from our website and there are other websites that you can also get POIs from , perhaps of variable quality and maybe not complete, up to date or accurate. Far better then to buy a collection of POI - which has all that you need on it.
